    JOB TITLE:   

    Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmacology Assistant Professor

    JOB PURPOSE:   

    The School of Pharmacy in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track position in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor (9-month appointment).  We seek an outstanding scientist whose research addresses basic or translational questions in broadly defined pharmaceutical sciences field. Candidates with a variety of expertise including but not limited to cellular, molecular, genomic, physiological, and behavioral approaches will be considered. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research focuses in the area of neuropharmacology/toxicology. This position offers outstanding research resources associated with the federally funded Wyoming Sensory Biology Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in addition to a competitive salary and startup package. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program that complements the expertise of our current faculty. The successful candidate is expected to utilize and strengthen the many core facilities at the University of Wyoming, including the Integrated Microscopy Core Facility and the Center for Advanced Scientific Imaging. The candidate is expected to teach PharmD pharmacology and toxicology courses and a graduate course in their area of expertise.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Teach Pharmaceutical Science Classes
    • Research in the area of neuropharmacology or toxicology
    • Advise pharmacy students
    • Engage in scholarly activity
    • Serve on school, college, university, and professional society committees

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

    This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Candidates must have:

    • A Doctoral degree
    • Post-doctoral experience
    • Qualified to be an NIH funded project leader in the COBRE program
    • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Multiple peer-reviewed publications 
    • Evidence of ability to secure external grant funding in support of research 
    • Neuropharmacology/toxicology focused research and teaching experience
    • Good communication skills
