INVITATION TO ATTEND

It is my pleasure to invite you to the AMSPC Annual Meeting, a conference dedicated to the challenges facing academic leaders in Pharmacology.  The meeting will take place on January 22-26, 2022, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort.  We welcome conference participation by the leadership of Pharmacology units within schools of medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, dentistry, and public health.

Like in previous AMSPC meetings, the conversations with colleagues at the beach are sometimes just as important as the programming in the conference room, and you will have plenty of time in both settings.  This year’s meeting is very special as it is the first in-person meeting since disruptions of our lives due to the pandemic. Moreover, we have a number of new initiatives including new awards and new faculty mentoring sessions. This is in addition to the other pre-existing activities ranging from Washington and ASPET updates.  We have also planned exciting social activities too!

If you have attended an AMSPC meeting previously, you already know the value of talking with your academic cohorts and sharing their strategies for leadership.  If you have never attended, you are overdue for this important networking and career development opportunity, and we are ready to help.  I hope you will be able to join us in January for a stimulating meeting in this spectacular setting.

TRAVEL & LODGING

The meeting is being held in historic Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, located on the Banderas Bay. Fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR).

Your reservations will be made at Marriott PVR Resort based on the dates you provide on your registration form. All rooms are either ocean front or ocean view. If you want to come early or stay later, the group rate is available 3 days before/after the meeting. Additional nights will be payable when you check out of the resort.  Please email Karen Gottlieb to request additional nights.

Please let us know right away of any changes you make to your travel dates.  

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

The closest airport to the Marriott PVR is Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR).

Airport transfers are not included in the registration fee.  The hotel is only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport (2.2 km), and taxis are readily available.  Transportation to and from the airport is mostly done by taxi (Aeromovil) or combi bus (colectivo minivan). Taxi and combi bus charge rates are based on zones of travel. and are paid for before entering the vehicle at a small kiosk located just before leaving the terminal building exit. Once you have obtained your ticket, you’ll be escorted to your vehicle. The ticket is then handed to the parking attendant at the parking lot exit and you are on your way.   Average cost $15-20 USD.  Other options include booking an Uber or a private transfer through AeroMovil or Viator.  

CANCELLATION POLICY

Refunds, less $100 cancellation fee, will be processed up to Nov 15, 2022. After that date no refunds are allowed.  Substitutions will be accepted.  For support or to cancel your registration and request refund, please contact Karen Gottlieb.
