The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Michigan State University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The department includes ~40 faculty with pharmacology/toxicology expertise in the fields of aging, cancer, cardiovascular, computation and genomics, environmental toxicology, gastrointestinal/genitourinary, immune cell pathology, liver pathology, and neuroscience research. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an innovative research program funded by extramural sources. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in advising, mentoring, and teaching graduate students and preclinical training of medical students.

    Position 1.

Ideal applicants will have a strong track record of publication demonstrating expertise in academic drug discovery. Although expertise in drugs used to treat nervous system disorders is desired, strong candidates with experience in other areas of pharmacology, including other therapeutic interests, screening strategies, biomarker development, monoclonal antibodies, or toxicology, are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to join and take on a significant role in a highly successful MSU Drug Discovery effort, which produces new IP, advances programs toward preclinical and clinical development, and enables the formation of new companies representing the interests of collaborating faculty and the university. https://careers.msu.edu/en-us/job/516748/astasc-professor-tenure-system

    Position 2

The successful applicant will join a group of fifty immunology researchers in the Applied Immunology Center for Education and Research (AICER) program.
