Group Tour: La Paz Waterfall Gardens w/Lunch

TUESDAY    1:00 - 5:30 pm  Included in registration fee for attendees & social guests

This tour takes us across coffee plantations and scenic vistas. As we ascend the terrain, we will notice a change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations, as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful array of colors and textures.  As we arrive at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, we will head towards the rain and cloud forest for a hike that will reveal five waterfalls: Templo, Magia Blanca, Encantada, Escondida and La Paz.  For those looking for a more relaxed stroll, enjoy a walk through a trail leading to the gardens, visit the aviary, hummingbird gallery, butterfly garden, serpentarium, and the frog’s exhibit to be enjoyed by those of all ages.

  • Must bring: comfortable walking shoes, jacket, poncho, rain gear, insect repellent,  binoculars, camera.
  • Included: transportation, tour guide, entrance fee to La Paz, lunch w/non-alcoholic drink & guide gratuities.

Poaz Volcano & Doka Coffee Plantation

WEDNESDAY  1:15 - 5:30 PM  $140PP  Min. 10ppl.

Poas volcano’s active crater is one of the largest in the world measuring 1.5 km (1 mile), and the sight of the smoking fumaroles and greenish-turquoise sulfurous lake at the bottom is breathtaking. Anyone peering into the enormous crater with its boiling, sulfurous lake is reminded of the great power of nature.

  • Bring: comfortable clothing, walking shoes, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, jacket, rain gear. *Higher elevation gets cool; rain jacket or poncho to protect clothing.
  • Included: transportation, tour guide, lunch and entrance fee to national park.
  • Not included: Guide gratuities at your discretion

San Jose Gold Museum & City Tour

THURSDAY  1:00 - 5:00 PM      $110PP  Min. 10ppl.

Discover and build new connections between the pre-Columbian past and its transcendence in the present by visiting the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum. The tour invites us to ask ourselves everything from how the first settlers arrived in the territory that is today Costa Rica to what is the reality that descendent Indigenous peoples live.  Afterwards, we will stroll to the Artisan Market and have some free time to shop and explore the area.
  • Bring: comfortable clothing, walking shoes, camera.
  • Included: transportation, lunch, tour guide, museum admission fee.
  • Not included: Guide gratuities at your discretion

Farewell "Pura Vida" Dinner

THURSDAY     6:30 - 9:00 PM

Join your colleagues for the final farewell dinner and Costa Rican buffet at the Marriott as we say goodbye to each other and farewell to "La Pura Vida"!  We'll have a live band to entertain us as we enjoy the view.

Included in registration fee for attendees and social guests

Pacuare River Rafting Trip

FRIDAY     6:15 AM - 5:30 PM   $150pp

Paddle your way through one of Costa Rica's most picturesque river gorges, looking out for native wildlife between rapid runs, on an exciting day trip that  would depart early morning and return to the hotel in the late afternoon. We would strongly recommend booking an additional hotel night to do this trip, rather than trying to make it back in time to fly home the same day.

If you are interested in participating in a post-meeting full day rafting trip on the Pacuare River, please contact Karen Gottlieb for more information.
