The Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University is seeking a scientist to fill a tenure-stream position in the area of cardiovascular research with an anticipated start date of September 2024 (negotiable). This position is designated for an applicant who identifies as a woman. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong externally funded research program and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

This is a collaborative group of more than 20 Dalhousie-affiliated clinical and basic science researchers with interests in translational research in cardiovascular biology and disease at our two medical campuses and affiliated hospitals located in Halifax, NS and Saint John, NB (DalMedNB). This position will be based at the Halifax campus. The successful candidate will contribute to the goals of international leadership in medical research and education, and be responsive to health needs across Atlantic Canada.
The successful applicant will have a PhD, or equivalent, and postdoctoral experience (at least two years preferred). Candidates must have a record of high-quality research related to the pathogenesis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, commensurate to their career stage; and must demonstrate potential for effective teaching and administrative service. Ideally, a candidate’s expertise will complement the research interests of DalCREW members to foster translational, interdisciplinary collaborations among basic and clinician scientists.
