Teaching Assistant Professor
Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University
The department teaches Medical Pharmacology and Therapeutics as well as Toxicology to medical and graduate students at the Brody School of Medicine and students in School of Dental Medicine and the College of Nursing. The graduate program through the Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Pharmacology and Toxicology is broadly based to prepare students for careers in academics, research, government, industry and medicine.
Academic opportunities include teaching in medical pharmacology and toxicology, managing on-line courses of instruction in pharmacotherapeutics, and delivering graduate and/or professional level courses in pharmacology and toxicology within the School of Medicine and for other units within the University. There are additional opportunities to become involved in curriculum development and integration within the School of Dental Medicine. Although the primary effort will be instruction, research collaboration with other investigators is encouraged. In addition to their teaching duties, each of the faculty is encouraged to perform research in his/her area of expertise. Faculty are encouraged to apply for grant support and to publish results of their research in professional journals. This position will contribute to the development of the department through service and research.
