The University of Washington School of Medicine seeks a Chair and professor of the Department of Pharmacology. Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent degree) in Pharmacology or a related biomedical discipline and/or an MD (or equivalent degree), an internationally recognized research program in pharmacology, or related biomedical discipline, and strong academic leadership skills. The Department, one of the premier pharmacology departments in the nation, has outstanding research and training programs, including participation in multiple interdisciplinary graduate programs. It trains the next generation of scientists through undergraduate, graduate, pharmacy and medical student teaching. The Department of Pharmacology is an integral part of the vigorous research community at the University of Washington. The UW School of Medicine is ranked top in the nation in NIH funding among public institutions and #2 overall.
