Chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics – Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI)

Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), America’s first cancer center and New York State’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center outside the New York City metropolitan area, seeks an academic leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics. RPCI is a mission-oriented institution focused on the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer. Roswell Park’s faculty includes 168 clinicians and 114 basic scientists, who also hold appointments, commensurate with experience and professional qualifications, at the University of Buffalo. The successful applicant will have demonstrated an outstanding record of research and academic accomplishments, experience in coordinating and administering multidisciplinary programs, and a willingness to lead an accomplished group of investigators. The Department’s research endeavors are expected to extend across a range of scientific fields relevant to cancer therapeutics and to include transdisciplinary collaborations across programs and departments at RPCI and across academic Institutions in Western New York. The Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics forms the core for the Institute’s NCI Cancer Center Support Grant Experimental Therapeutics Program to which the Chair is expected to bring leadership and innovation. The Chair will have substantial opportunities for recruitment of new faculty.
